IT’S MORE THAN A co-incidence that the Scott Arms happens to be in Kingston… During the Summer months, the Jerk Shak opens its doors in the pub’s garden, serving up a feast of Jamaican Caribbean cuisine to the gentle, warm sounds of Bob Marley, Toots and the Maytals, Freddie McGegor and a host of reggae and calypso tunes.
There really isn’t anything to beat sitting outside in the sun, drinking a cool lager or a tumbler of mango juice and tucking in to a plate of jerk chicken, curry goat, rice and peas, callaloo, patties, akee and saltfish, all cooked and served by the Scott Arms’ very own answer to the I-Threes. In the winter Nicky organises Caribbean Cuisine Nights to bring a taste of the sun to those dark, cold nights: keep an eye on our Facebook page for dates.
Co-owner Nicky originally hails from Jamaica, and she brings the best family traditions to serving genuine Caribbean dishes, loved by old and young alike. The Jerk Shak is open most weekends between Easter and late September (weather permitting) and also for special events.

IF YOUR PARTY OR FUNCTION needs the sizzle of some real Caribbean heat, then you’re in luck. Nicki and the Jerkshak catering crew are now available for hire for your event. You and your guests can enjoy the genuine taste of Jamaican with such delights as jerk chicken, curried goat, ackee and saltfish, rich and peas, callaloo and patties, cooked and served at your event.
Mix in some Jamaican Rum Punch, several cool cans of Red Stripe and the Jerkshak Soundsystem (powered by the Wilkswood Reggae Festival DJs) and you’ve got yourself a party, whatever the occasion or time of year.

Jerkshak Spicy Jerk Marinade
Available to buy now from the The Scott Arms, 195ml jars of Jerk Shak Spicy Jerk Marinade made at the pub by Nicky to a traditional (and secret) Jamaican recipe. Using locally-sourced chillies when in season, this marinade adds a spicy hit to any dish.
